DISCIPLESHIP

It is a call to move from the starting point of salvation through the stages of discipleship thereby fulfilling the great commission.

THE DISCIPLESHIP TRACK VIA THE G12 VISION

The G12 vision is a cell church vision that operates according to the government or leadership of 12. Based on the way Jesus chose taught, shaped and formed his 12 disciples into his image the vision is proving to be one of the most effective ways of equipping the body of Christ in the world today. It is a call to move from the starting point of salvation through the stages of discipleship thereby fulfilling the great commission.

HOW DID JESUS DO IT?

  • He chose 12 disciples to reach the multitudes
  • He stayed with this 12 permanently until they were trained
  • He released them, gave them authority and empowered them to disciple the nations
  • The call is to find 12 and to reproduce Christ’s character in them.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS OF THE VISION?

This is worked out through the 4 step Ladder of Success, in which disciples are trained according to their homogenous grouping i.e. men, women, children, youth.

1. Win

New believers are won by personal evangelism, through the cells and through the celebration meetings and outreaches.

2. Consolidate

The 3 stage process by which we ensure new believers are properly grounded in the faith.

2a) Pre-Encounter Bible studies – The new believer is taken through a series of bible studies that ensure and assure them of their salvation.

2b) Encounter – The Encounter day long retreat brings each person to an experience of total change in their lifestyle, both internally and externally, through the work which Jesus has done on the cross, and through the power of the Holy Spirit.

2c) Post Encounter -A series of bible studies that introduce the believer to the new life in Christ and how to maintain the breakthroughs they have received at the encounter.

3. Disciple

The disciple is then trained in the 30-week School of Leaders (SOL) which is subdivided into three terms. The main focus of the terms is as follows; Term 1- Basic doctrine, Term 2- Cell Structure, Term 3 – Leadership.

4. Send

By Term 3 of the SOL, the disciple launches a new cell (a gathering of people who meet weekly to fellowship and carry out the discipleship vision) and becomes part of a G12 cell (a cell whose 12 members are cell leaders) He grows his cell from a potential of 12 to 144 cell members. When the cell structure is in place the church is divided into strategic groups or ‘nets’ which meet regularly. The homogenous nets are made up of the men’s cells, the women’s cells, the youth cells, the children’s cells and the couple’s cells.

In addition, the disciple with his cell members has the opportunity to go on missions and to plant a new church.

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
